Absolutely not – as long as they are applied the correct way! At Dream Lashes & Brows, our skilled and experienced lash technicians use the safest products and techniques to ensure that your eyelash extensions are applied correctly. We take special care to make sure each lash is applied individually, so as not to put undue stress on your natural lashes. That way, you can enjoy longer lasting lashes with less risk of damage or breakage. If you do decide to remove your eyelash extensions, it’s important not to attempt to do so yourself as this could easily damage the fragile hairs of your natural lashes. Our experienced technicians are more than happy to help you with safely removing the extensions if desired.

When done correctly, there is no need for any contact with skin – the extensions are applied directly to each individual lash. At first, it may seem strange as you experience a new sensation but after a few appointments, you’ll get so used to it that you’ll feel completely relaxed and might even fall asleep during the process. Once you’ve used a makeup remover to remove all traces of makeup, it’s important to use a lash-safe foaming lash cleanser for gentle cleansing. Remember to be gentle when cleaning your lashes as they are fragile while wet and require more delicate care in order to last longer. Gently massage the cleanser onto your lashes and rinse with lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean towel afterwards, taking care not to rub too harshly.

Yes, lash extensions work on blonde lashes. It is just important to choose the right length and thickness of extensions for your natural lashes to ensure that they look natural and last longer. Although our luxurious lash extension fibres are made from the highest quality synthetic fibers and are composed of a deep black pigment, they are designed to seamlessly integrate with your natural lashes.

Yes, although extremely rare, it is possible to be allergic to lash extension adhesives. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include inflammation, red swollen eyelids, and rashes around the eyes or eyelids. If you experience any of these symptoms after getting eyelash extensions, it’s important to speak with your doctor as soon as possible for diagnosis and treatment. It is also important to avoid using lash extension products if you have a history of allergies or sensitivities. To prevent an allergic reaction, we recommend to do a patch test before getting eyelash extensions. A patch test involves placing a small amount of the product on your skin and monitoring for any reactions over the course of 24 hours. If no reaction occurs, it is safe to proceed with the application of lash extensions. With proper care and maintenance, most people can enjoy the look and feel of eyelash extensions without any further issues. However, if you do experience an allergic reaction, it is important to remove the lashes immediately and consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Hybrid lashes are a combination of classic and volume lashes, in which one synthetic lash is applied to each natural lash. Volume lashes on the other hand involve applying multiple very thin and light synthetic eyelashes to each natural eyelash, creating a fuller look. Hybrid lashes produce an effect somewhere between classic and volume; the extensions give you more fullness than classic extensions without being as dramatic as volume lashing.

• Try not to touch your lashes for the first few hours. The oil from your fingers can cause strain on your lash roots the more you touch them.
• It is recommended to keep your lashes dry for at least 24-36 hours after the application. Washing your hair during this time should be avoided if possible, but if it’s necessary use only lukewarm water and keep it away from your eyes. Avoiding steamy environments like hot saunas, spas or very hot showers will help the adhesive to cure properly. If it’s a very hot and humid day, make sure to stay out of direct sunlight and heat for at least 24 hours. Following these instructions will ensure that your eyelash extensions remain secure for as long as possible.
• After the 24 hour mark, eyelash extensions are technically waterproof. However, if you plan on swimming or sitting in a hot spa daily with your extensions, they may not last as long as if you don’t. Water can get into your eyes and rub against the lashes during these activities, which can cause damage over time.
• For people with especially oily skin, it is important to use oil-control moisturizer and other products such as blotting papers and mattifying lotions. Such items will help keep the face hydrated while controlling excess oil production.
• It is important to use oil-free products on your face as they are less likely to clog pores and cause breakouts.
• Clean lashes properly, at least a couple of times per week with a foaming lash cleanser. Baby shampoo (not the conditioning type) in very small amounts is ok too.

Don’t

• It is important to avoid playing with them or tugging on them when you’re applying makeup. Additionally, rubbing your eyes roughly can cause damage to the delicate follicles of your natural lashes.
• Avoid using any oily based products on your face or eyes.
• We recommend avoiding waterproof and oil-based mascara or eyeliners.
• If possible, do not use any mascara.
• Do not use any type of baby wipes, cotton wipes or makeup wipes to wipe makeup off them.
• Avoid removing the lashes yourself as this may cause damage to your natural lashes.
• Do not use any type of cleaning oil on your face if you want your lashes to last as long as possible.

What is normal

• If you experience any redness or dryness as a result of your lash application, don’t worry – it should go away on its own within an hour. However, if it persists for more than an hour or is causing you discomfort, please contact us so that we can advise further. We take great care to minimize this type of reaction; if you are sensitive, please let us know beforehand so that we can take preventive measures. • It is not uncommon to lose a few eyelashes every day, usually between 1-5. This should be expected and is nothing to worry about as the natural lashes are much smaller than their false counterparts.
• Generally, eyelash growth follows a natural cycle, with each individual lash taking between three to eight months to complete its life cycle. However, some people may experience lashes shedding faster than usual or at different intervals. In this case, it is important to take care of your eyelashes by following a few simple steps.

Symptoms may arise within the first few days after having the extensions applied and, although rare, are unfortunately unavoidable. However, there are treatments available for this type of reaction and your physician will be able to provide guidance.
• If you have applied extensions to your natural lashes and feel that they are shedding excessively within the first three days, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can determine if there is an issue with the extensions, and provide solutions to ensure your extensions remain in place. Our team is available 24/7 to help troubleshoot any problems or questions.
• If you find your eyes feel gritty and sandy after wearing extensions for a while, it’s important to take the time to properly clean your lashes. Your technician can assess your lash line and give advice on the best way to keep them clean. Properly cleaning your lashes will help ensure that they remain healthy and strong, so you’ll be able to enjoy them for longer.
